Are You Allergic to Sex???

Up to 12 per cent of women could be allergic to semen - some so severely that exposure could cause anaphylactic shock, a leading expert has claimed. Dr Michael Carroll, a lecturer in Reproductive Science at Manchester Metropolitan University, said that women aged 20 to 30 are thought to be worst affected, displaying symptoms immediately or up to one hour after exposure. Symptoms include irritation, itching, painful urination and eczema, but in the most severe cases, exposure to semen can cause a potentially fatal allergic reaction. Dr Carroll believes that while very few people have been diagnosed with a semen allergy, it could be common problem. He and his colleagues have carried out an unpublished survey which suggests that as many as 12 women per 100 could be affected.

In another paper, published in the journal Human Fertility, Dr Carroll said that symptoms of hypersensitivity to human semen (HHS) are often misdiagnosed due to their similarity with other conditions, such as dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) and some sexually transmitted diseases. Dr Carroll, and his colleagues at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, diagnosed four women with the condition based on the their clinical history and allergy skin prick tests. Dr Carroll separated the sperm cells from the semen. The seminal fluid and the isolated sperm cells were used in allergy skin prick tests. An immune reaction was noted with the seminal fluid, but no reaction occurred with the isolated sperm. This demonstrated the allergy is caused by a component in the seminal fluid - most likely a glycoprotein from the prostate - as opposed to the actual sperm cells. This means that someone who is allergic to one person's semen will be allergic to all semen - changing partners will not help them to escape the allergy.

Avoiding a reaction either by abstinence or with condom use proved successful in all cases, although this was obviously not an option for those wishing to start a family.
In the paper, Dr Carroll wrote: ‘In addition to the reaction and physical discomfort, women with HHS experience emotional stress due to the impact it can have on their relationships and the concerns about family planning.’

In severe cases with a high risk of anaphylactic shock, sperm separated from the semen and can be used in assisted reproductive technology. Dr Carroll added: ‘There are numerous cases published of successful pregnancies achieved naturally and through assisted reproductive technology in women with this condition. We were able to reassure our patients that HHS does not cause infertility.’ He believes that a lack of recognition of the condition in the medical community may also be partly to blame for the lack of diagnoses, along with patients not approaching doctors about their symptoms.

Relationship Advice from Atlanta's Love and Hip Hop Momma Dee

To get more of Mentally Orgasmic click this link here: INTRO Magazine

Mentally Orgasmic is not known for celebrity interviews but when we were offered a chance to talk to reality star Momma Dee from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta we jumped at that chance. Momma Dee was first known as the mother of rapper Lil Scrappy but she has made a name for herself on the show. Momma Dee is always seen giving her son relationship advice. We wanted to know what advice would she give woman when looking for a someone.

Momma Dee:
The first thing a woman should do is love herself first. I met a woman and I asked her if I could look in her purse. She replied "Of course you can your Momma Dee I know you have your own money and you don't need mine". I told her that if I was just some random woman on the street would you have let me look in your purse she said "no". Women need to use that same mentality when dealing with men. Why would you go out and sleep with any man you don't know. Why would you get drunk and just sleep with any man. You as a woman need to love and respect yourself first before you can expect any man to love you.

Currently I am working on a book that is set to be released in 60 days called " My Life And In That Order". The book is based on my life. I talk about the things that I went through as a child to an adult. I talk about how my mother put me out because her new husband said he did not want me in the house. I was a child. Not many people know or understand how you feel when your mother comes to you and says "My husband doesn't want you in the house so you need to leave". I talk about my life as a pimp. I talk about the high level officials that would call me up to meet with one of my girls. I call one official out specifically. I am also reviewing some movie scripts to see if that is something else that I would like to do.

Love and Hip Hop is a true reality show. We are not scripted. When it comes time to do the green screen comments I tell them just cut the camera on. I don't hold anything back. I am not going to be someone else just because the cameras are rolling. That is all me that you see on television. When I give my son advice you see me telling him what I would tell him off camera. My feelings about cast members are my true feelings. Like I said nothing is scripted.

I have been vocal recently about domestic violence. I don't believe anyone man or woman needs to be in that type of situation. If a man or a woman needs to beat on you then you need to leave. There is no real love in that situation. As a mother I believe that other mothers should be the best mothers that they can be for their children. There are times when things just don't go the way we plan. In those times just focus on being the best mother that you can be.  I try everyday to be the best mother that I can be for my children. I try and give the best advice that I can. People judge me on how I speak to my son but that is just how I am. I don't believe in holding anything back when talking to my children. Some people do hold back but that is not era that I come from.

I want to thank you for giving me the time to talk to you. I want the readers and fans to know that there is more to come on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta but most importantly I want the mothers out there to just be the best mothers that they can be.

Cheating

To get more of Mentally Orgasmic click this link here: INTRO Magazine

If you’ve never been cheated on that you wouldn’t completely understand how it makes the other person feel and why it just should never be done. Its more than just having your heart broken and trust completely shattered. It destroys their self esteem.

I will forever feel like I’m not good enough. The only way I can rationalize in my head of why they went and did it is because I wasn’t doing something right, or that I was missing something, and she was the only person who could give it to him. I feel inadequate. I feel like they are too use to me and that I’m not as exciting anymore. Like we’ve been married for 150years and I just can’t do it for they anymore. And I’m always going to feel like this no matter how many times they can say sorry, because I was literally destroyed inside. That night I was replaced.

I can be told over and over that I shouldn’t feel this way, but if they doesn’t know why I feel this way then they can’t really say anything. If you’ve never been cheated on, replaced, the 2nd choice, the rebound, had unrequited love, then you don’t understand. You don’t get it.

So don’t tell me how I should feel.
Its your fault.

"Its a waste of time to try and make a someone understand until they've gone through exactly what they've put you though"

Congratulation Your Engaged, Now Lets Work It Out

written by Charity Lynette of Curvy Chick Fitness
So your boo boo, shuga wuga, honey pie, love of your life has popped the question. After the initial shock and excitement dies down a million and one thoughts start to run through your mind. 'Do we want a spring or fall wedding? Where will it be? Will all of my family travel? Who are my bridesmaids? What colors do I want to work with? What style of dress do I want my bridesmaids in? Dress? My dress ...what kind of dress do I want to wear?' The moment you think of your dress whether you know the style you want or never have thought about it you immediately picture yourself in a dress. Then one of 2 things happen. One, you immediately get excited at the thought of being able to wear your dream dress that you have had picked out since you were 17 or two you hands gravitate to your mid-section and grimace at the thought of squeezing into a wedding dress. Whether this is your thought process or not most brides to be make the declaration to be some what smaller than what they currently are. My goal is to outline a few things that can help make this process a little less intimidating.
Start off by making your fitness plan a priority with all of your other wedding plans. If it not apart of your routine you need to find a realistic time slot where it can go. You want to give yourself about 5 to 6 six months before the wedding day to have healthy results. Remember your not looking for a quick fix for a fitness plan you want to make sure that this is carried over into a lifestyle vs a crash diet just to fit in a dress. Incorporate this fitness plan in your budget if working out and nutrition are not your area of expertise then you are going to have to hire someone or pay for a class of some sort that is going to give you knowledge in this area. Treat this as an investment for your well being. Some people are paying $1500 for a photographer but think that $500 is too much for personal sessions.     We spend so much money on material items such as cars, phones, the best designer clothes but then we want to be cheap when it comes to healthier food and gym memberships.

Workout classes are a great way to get you started plus it allows you to get together with girlfriends and the bridal party to discuss a few plans and a great stress reliever at such a hectic time. Also with your fiance! That can be great couple time. You could even purchase a group package from a personal trainer that you and the girls could go in on together if being in front of strangers is too intimidating. Getting together for group walks/jogs is another option. What ever route that you decide to go make sure you start two to three days a week. Get with the group once a week then the other two days do something different so that you don't get bored with your routine. The moment you get bored switch it up. Eventually your going to want to incorporate strength training because that is going to burn fat faster. Experiment with different workouts do not do the same thing every time you work out that will only maintain your weight instead if help you lose and tone.

Now that we have the workout component naturally we have to talk about nutrition. The two go hand in hand. One with out the other can make the process longer than what it needs to be. Plus neither one has to be too strict if you find a good balance between the two. Here are some helpful nutrition tips that you want to start using along with your new fitness plan.

-Drink plenty of water everyday this will help with skin care and digestion
-Always eat breakfast even if it only a half an apple you have to get your metabolism jump started
-Snacks are your friend. Do not be afraid to snack just snack on good foods
*fruits & veggies, hummus, low-fat yogurt, nuts, protein drinks, natural peanut, almond, or soy butter
-lean meats like fish and chicken are easier to digest
-At dinner stick to a meat and a veggie. No pasta & bread at dinner time
-One cheat day a week!
-Stick to foods that grow from the ground that you have to cook. Processed and frozen foods only slow the process down
-Eggs work for any time of the day and a great source or protein
-Use the Internet! There are so many websites with healthier recipes on making your favorite foods
Planning a wedding and preparing yourself to blend families and households with another person can be extremely stressful and emotional experience. Which can take a toll on your overall health you want to give your body the best foods as possible and exercise the body. Treat the inside of your body as good as you cover the outside. Don't take the cheap route for your health. Even though you may be starting this journey because of the wedding doesn't mean it ends the day of the wedding. That's why you  want to start 5 to 6 months out so that it becomes a pattern and a habit to eat well and exercise. You only get one body and what you do with it is your choice. Choose a healthy lifestyle and blend that lifestyle with the groom to be, so that if children come into the picture you are passing down such a great message. Remember if you live in the New York City area feel free to contact Curvy Chick Fitness, so we can tailor a fitness package for you or your whole bridal party.
